About that Arctic Ice pack
As I perused the latest CNN attempt to create fear and despair by pushing the worn-out nonsense about the supposedly vanishing ice pack, I couldn’t help but chuckle. It seems like just yesterday Al Gore was confidently proclaiming that the Arctic would be ice-free by 2014. Remember that? And let’s not forget the doomsday prophecies of Greta Thunberg, who insisted the world would be destroyed by now. She’s gone kind of quiet about that prediction, hasn’t she?
Well, what do you know — the Arctic ice is still there! Imagine my shock. Not only is it there, like always, doing just fine, but so are the polar bears. It seems Mother Nature didn’t get the memo about the impending apocalypse. If we are to be plagued by unethical charlatans and mentally unstable school dropout hustlers telling us the world is ending for the most absurd reasons one could imagine, couldn’t we at least get ones smart enough to set the date far enough in the future so they can’t be so obviously disproven?
Couldn’t we at least get an apocalypse with some chest hair, something imaginative and devastating, like a giant interstellar space cat using the Earth as a playtoy? Instead, what do we get: “Oh no, the ice is melting, what are we going to do now?”
C’mon, man.
While frauds and crooks like Gore and Thunberg enjoy their comfortable lives built off their fearmongering, ordinary people and companies around the world are making the world a better place and improving the lives of people everywhere by developing and providing abundant energy. It’s all about Better Living through Carbon Emissions. Hope always wins over fear.
